Nintendo Switch will have GameCube virtual support, according to some anonymous sources from Eurogamer. (It took me a while to finally get to the damn source, but I’m pretty sure it’s from the three sources mentioned in their article.) This is really exciting, and I hope they bring some of the forgotten titles, like Eternal Darkness. That was easily one of my favorite games ever. Check out the trailer:
Backward Compatible, for the Right Monies
Aside from that, they’re going to have an upgrade program like the Wii U had for Wii titles. I’m not a fan of that as much; the games should be free. However, if you’re a hoarder like @protoman251, you’ll be able to port over all of your titles from the Wii U virtual console.
Wait, did you Say Dark Souls?
Another exciting turn of events was when it was revealed (rumored?) that Dark Souls 3 will be ported over to the Nintendo Switch. According to the devs, they were running the game at a satisfactory performance. Nintendo Insider went one step further and made a full list of the current publishers that are supporting Nintendo Switch.
Verdict so Far
Of course I’m going to preoder and wait in line like a giddy schoolgirl. But, that doesn’t mean I can’t complain. For starters, the screen is only rumored to be 720p. My phone has a 1080p screen… come on Nintendo! I’m not going to trash Nintendo like @partybusjohnson69. But, it’s hard to deny, Nintendo consoles are usually behind Playstation and XBox in terms of tech.
Alright, back to drooling over this thing.
