It has been confirmed. Red Dead Redemption will be arriving to Playstation Now next week. December 6th, 2016 to be exact. For those of you, like me, who’ve been waiting for the Red Dead Redemption PC port for some time now this kinda bridges the gap. At this point it may be fair to say it is simply not coming, so we’ll have to make do with what we get. I run PS Now on my PC, and it works great. Resolution/Graphics whores need not apply.
The Playstation Now Factor
Playstation Now is a great subscription based service that is similar to Netflix, but for games. Honestly, it is the closest thing to that. It offers over 400+ games (mainly from the Playstation 3 era) that you can stream and it works great for the most part. I’ve been enjoying it immensely, and look for a detailed review from Meta-Game here in the future. What is also does, is it brings those same Playstation exclusives to PC through their web app.
The service is not perfect… If you’re a graphics whore, then the service may let you down a bit. Almost all the games are older. There are also a lot of clunkers in the library. I can’t imagine much people getting excited for Wheel of Fortune…
For those of you who are not subscribed to Playstation Now, I would recommend their annual subscription (if you can still get it). I got it last year for $99.99 for a year, which I thought was a steal. On their site the most economical option is the 3 Month Plan for $44.99. At that price it gets harder to recommend, so I would suggest taking advantage of the free trial to see if the service fits your play style.
