Steam’s Autumn Sale Is the Coolest Fucking Thing Ever!

Steam’s Autumn Sale is going on now. They have a lot of cool shit on sale right now—surprisingly the one I was most taken with so far is the $19.99 Steam Link. That time of year when you find yourself horribly broke has come early. I could buy presents for my shitty family, but what have they done for me lately? Nothing! I’ll be using those funds toward some games I’ve had in my wishlist for some time now.

Steam Awards

Steam Awards

One of the neat new additions to the sale is the Steam Awards. I’m a big fan of stupid little shit like this. A few years back they introduced stickers, and I was immediately hooked. This year you get to vote for nine games in nine different categories. The last one is custom. SPOILER ALERT: I voted for Sakura Angels for every category (currently on sale for a mere $2.49 as of this writing). Something about fictional anime girls with giant breasts really gets to me.

Seriously… Just looking at that picture above gives this game an instant 10/10 (and this writer an instant erection).

Steam Sale’s Effect on the Competition

One of the other effects that I noted is that the often stingy Nintendo is offering pretty good digital offers this time around too on their Black Friday Sale. I never understood why they charged so much for their digital games when I could buy them cheaper at physical stores like Best Buy and Amazon who offer 20% off new games. In the past Nintendo would lower their games by 10% at the most, and this time around some of the games are dropping by up to 50%. Competition is a beautiful thing.

So remember everybody: Thanksgiving and Black Friday Sales are meant exclusively for you to buy cool shit for yourself. Fuck everybody else. That’s what Christmas is for.
